Kitchenetta Trattoria Tipica Italiana is arguably some the best food Fort Lauderdale has to offer; not just when considering Italian restaurants. Offering classic and contemporary Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, Vincent and Maria Foti have created an Italian dining concept like none other. Situated in Northern Fort Lauderdale, Kitchenetta boasts an open concept floor plan and loft-like aesthetics that create a high energy atmosphere, which, although noisy at times, only adds to the charm. Their fixed menu is complemented by 10-15 specials, so there is something for everyone. The huge portions and bold flavors will surely leave you satisfied, and if you can’t finish all the food in front of you, well, there’s always leftovers!
The restaurant resides off of busy US-1 but Kitchenetta has addressed this with complementary valet for the restaurant’s patrons. There is comfortable seating outside with sun shades to make dinner or lunch (even lunch on a scorching day) bearable. While eating, your water glasses will seem to refill themselves and the complimentary pre-appetizer bread is delicious. They call it the Pane Schiacciato but it is a plate full of hot, rosemary-seasoned, salted, olive-oily bread and we had to request a second helping after we devoured the first. Our waitress smiled and happily brought us another. If you were hungry before you read this review, just wait until you look at all the pictures.
Note: It’s hard to capture taste through a lens (obviously), and although the sauce may look standard, we assure you it’s far from ordinary. It’s your grandmothers sauce on steroids. Really.
